Sam joined the firm in 2013 after spending 23 years with a Big Four firm, managing Payroll and BACS bureaux. He heads up Grant Thornton’s UK payroll department in Belfast. He has an in-depth understanding of the regulatory framework for payroll, HMRC’s Real Time Information reporting regime and Pensions Auto Enrolment. Sam’s experience covers a diverse portfolio of local, national and international payrolls including micro, SME and volume processing. He has extensive experience in the set-up, transition and compliance across the complete cycle of client payroll.
Sam’s experience working with a range of sectors including not for profit, technology, automotive and manufacturing. He provides assistance to manage your day to day payroll compliance and advise on a wide range of payroll related topics including statutory payments, benefits in kind, expenses and dealing with enquiries from HMRC. Sam uses this knowledge to provide a risk based approach to managing the operational aspects of our payroll team, which is of great benefit to our clients.
